Art Revolution Taipei (A.R.T.) 2019 rounded off in the evening of April 29. A percentage of 90.14, i.e. 448 in 497 artists from 76 countries sold their artworks, 22 artists of them sold out their exhibiting artworks. With 9 years’ dedications, the A.R.T. has become an authoritative art fair recognized and trusted by art collectors; some from Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong either visited personally or bought artworks via Internet. There’s even one buyer came to the show and completed the purchase ten minutes before the closing. The great quality and compliments about the A.R.T. also attracted other curating teams to have a look. A self-evident position of the iconic art fair in Asia.

With a tinge of emotions, Prof. Lee Sun-Don, the Art-Director, says: “It’s been tough to start from the scratch for the first 3-4 years.” The organizer upholds the original aspiration to organize every edition with total dedications; each aspect of the fair is taken care by a professional team, including the theme and kernel concept, data collecting and invitations to international artists, as well as the curation planning, execution and PR marketing.

Prof. Lee said: “It shows that we’ve been successful in view of the increasing number of participating artists year by year.” There were 497 artists from 79 countries, one third of the globe. Visitors were surprised to find so many diversified artworks at the show from so many countries that even impossible to see at a fine art museum!

Furthermore, artists were invited to elaborate the ideas and concepts of their own works and to interact with viewers vis-à-vis, it’s the way to imbue arts and aesthetics subtly; which also manifests the idea Prof. Lee emphasizes that Art Revolution Taipei is not just aiming for an academical position, neither limited merely to the pursuit for commercial benefits; the ultimate goal is to have arts blending into the public’s daily life.

Each artwork exhibited has gone through Prof. Lee’s rigid criteria of selection, and the no discount pricing policy is to establish the A.R.T.’s authority through a process of transparent and fair transactions, which is widely recognized, supported and trusted by buyers. Thus the good reputation of having all exhibited works excellent has developed a ripple effect to entice buyers from the VIP preview till the last moment; there’s even a collector came to the exhibition 10 minutes before the closing to buy the selected artworks from the Grand Competition, and six pieces of Prof. Lee Sun-Don’s “The Clear Mirror World.Totem Bang”. A collector bought artworks via his friend’s “live broadcasting” on the mobile. Strongly recommended by his friend, an art collector came to visit the A.R.T. from Honk Kong; an art lover living overseas bought tickets three days in a row in order to savor all works. With the dedications and persevere lasting for 9 years, the rate of exhibiting artists striking deals always remains above 80%, even 90.14%, just like this edition in 2019; “this mind-blowing fact has proved that we has made it.”
 



next year at the new venue: Hall 1 of the World Trade Center

Mr. John Cheng, the executive director of A.R.T., wants to express his appreciations to existing and new acquainted collectors; he said this is the 9th edition of A.R.T., also the last year to stay at Hall 3 of the World Trade Center, and he’s looking forward to meet everybody next year at the new venue: Hall 1 of the World Trade Center. For the future, the Art Revolution Taipei will not just stick to the original concept of putting artists center and front, but will also come up with new ideas, new combination and creativeness, just “Stay tuned!”
